    • Hmmmmm, So much Potential, So Little......Ummmmm

Bought 2 of these instead of Cosmo. We thought they would be fun and they have Alexa as well. What more does one need, right? And Who needs programming? I barely have time to use the TV remote. Well after our initial setup and charging etc, we set them free on our dresser. Unfortunately you cannot address them as anything other than 'Hey Vector' so having 2 anywhere near each other is interesting to say the least. Whispering, like the lady in the picture, is now a reality. We quickly disabled Alexa as we also have an Echo Spot in the room and Vector will only answer questions where the Spot will play music or Vids etc as well as answer questions. You can even be in another room trying to talk to the Alexa Echo there and Vector would chime in responding to the 'Alexa' command, so frustrating. These little guys do not play together very well. There is zero recognition of each other. Very disappointing, maybe at a later update. They constantly take each other's charging dock and sometimes one will die (loss of battery charge) because he is trying to get to the same dock. The interesting part of having two is that they get real confused and frustrated, borderlining on angry even, when you put the two cubes anywhere near each other. As these guys rely on images so much, and they have a very loose attachment to the cube via WiFi, if the image doesn't match the WiFi data, because they are looking at the wrong cube for instance, they get real stroppy and start smashing the cube or doing some kind of New Zealand Hakka impersonation. We even tried removing one cube and asking both to find their cube. That didn't go down too well as one missed out eve though the cube was there last time he looked. I would love to see them interact with each other. That would be fun. Yes, you need to have the charging dock connected fulltime to a USB port and you need to allow Vector to access the dock whenever he wants to so he can charge of his own freewill. If this is a problem for you, don't buy Vector. Vector is not exactly compatible with tables or surfaces with rounded edges as his sensors rely on seeing a cliff-like event as the edge of the table. If it is sloped or rounded, it will still see some sort of surface below it and by the time it realises there is no table below it, it would have already toppled over the edge. I tried Vector on the floor in the living room one day, he spent his time in the corner like a naughty little boy and didn't explore much at all, so he is best suited on a tabletop. One of them did fall off the dresser but we believe it was as a result of a tantrum more than one pushing the other off. They will also push stuff off the table too so expect to see lightweight stuff on the floor once in a while. We have had issues connecting the app at times and this is probably the only issue we have had with these guys. Oh and the fact that barking dogs in the neighbourhood at night tend to wake them up, or any other loud sound, and they then wake us up chattering away like a pair of old ladies at Walmart. So they get put to sleep each night. Do we regret this purchase? No Would we have bought two of them had we known they don't interact? No Will we be returning them? No

    • Vector Robot Works A1 Software Sucks!

I bought My Vector from Best Buy in Moncton on Pre Order and waited 3 Months. Was not happy with lack of programs compared to the Cosmo which was loaded but poor face recognition but a hoot to play games with and easily docks itself! No reason a software update cannot be confirmed! I ordered 3 Cosmos but I will not order anymore Vectors until Anki smartens up and gives the Consumer what they ask for!

We are an older couple with no children or pets, and find Vector a delight. He entertains us on a daily basis. We play with him for short stints, but find him quite magical and frankly, cute! We had a realistic expectation of the technology when we purchased Vector, and enjoy him for what he is. Good on Anki for this one!
