- Elevation Gainby Ken

'Elevation gain is tracked from an Altimiter that detects change in elevation' Um...Altitude can be determined based on the measurement of atmospheric pressure. The greater the altitude, the lower the pressure. Please get your facts straight before calling someone out!

Google Samsung Watch battery drain issue. Each software update on this watch makes it more and more unusable. Do NOT buy this watch

I have had this watch for more than two weeks now and have enjoyed every thing about it. It fits so well and surprisingly I go to bed with this watch on my wrist without any problem. The battery life is unbelievably very long. As rated by under specification to have a battery life of 4 days, mine has a battery life of close to 7 days. I would recommend it to any one who needs a smart watch.

Have you read some of the comments below? Some guy was complaining about it not tracking the elevation gain while on a treadmill....that is the dumbest thing Ive ever read. Elevation gain is tracked from an Altimiter that detects change in elevation. You're not actually gaining elevation while on a treadmill, thus NO watch can track it. Half of the negative reviews on here are written by people that do not know anything about fitness tracking.
- Upgraded aesthetics compared to Gear S3 and nothing more.by Chris

Galaxy 46mm silver with black bezel looks great. Larger battery last 5 days compared to only 2 days with Gear S3. Limited functionality as it is paired to iPhone X. Following advertised features missing: 1/ No NFC 2/ No SOS 3/ No Stress alert 4/ Only able receive emails or messages but cannot send. Auto detect for steps after 10 mins often times do not work. Heart rate monitoring when on walk exercise do not record and are not accurate. Definitely not worth the upgrade from Gear S3!
- Best companion of Samsung phonesby abe

I've been looking for a smart watch since my Moto 360 died a few months ago. WearOS would be a perfect fit for Android phones with support from a good collection of apps. However, none of WearOS based watches can meet my demands unfortunately. So I switched to Galaxy watch. The features I like the best on Galaxy watch are rotating bezel control, Samsung Pay, continuous HR monitoring during workout, make/receive calls, cool watch faces, browsing websites, watching YouTube, standalone music play (local or Sportify), and much more. One thing I'm still struggling with is I can't find the Stress management feature in Samsung Health as advertised. Not sure if this is related to region or software version. Waiting for Samsung support to respond.
- Good for those that want an extension of their phoneby Brass

Purchased this watch to use mostly for outdoor activities where I didn't want or need my phone. The intent was to have use of the built in GPS to navigate. I was very surprised that despite the watch having a GPS, there is very little in the way of app support for it. There are apps for city street navigation and some topo maps that piggy back off your phone but nothing for use strictly with the watch. The fitness apps are not great. The step and stair climbing isn't all that accurate and the heart rate monitor doesn't read unless you are standing still. The indoor swimming app is a joke and wasn't any more useful than a timer. There are thousands of watch faces available and a few other applications but not many. If you simply want a watch to send text and email notifications to your wrist, this will do exactly that but if you want a fitness and outdoor watch you may want to look at other options. Perhaps in a year or two when the app support improves this will be a good option but by then there will be other watches on the market.
- Disappointedby TC

coming from a Fitbit device I was really looking forward to this device. Physical quality seems to be great, however here is what does not work from a software perspective and why I will be returning if not addressed in the next week. -pedometer---flat out does not work. Tried work around from samsung support and no luck -stairs--doesnt count at all -bixby voice commands--pretty bad -heart monitor---way off. -no google play support although best buy said there is. wtf I bought this because I wanted a traditional watch look, with more features then my previous FitBit had. Looks like I will just return this and go apple watch up Fitbit Versa.

I love the watch, and am really enjoying it, sadly the wrist band broke after 3 days of use. Best buy referred me to samsung support. and there comment was the band is not covered under warranty
- Neat, but expensiveby Matt

This is a very attractive watch, there is no doubt. I tried it for a couple days and found myself enjoying how it looks. The ability to customize the watch faces was great, and I found some really good ones that I enjoyed. I also put a few pictures on it and they looked great. The unfortunate thing about the watch though is that there is VERY limited app support. I found that I struggled to find any apps that really defined the watch, and was disappointed by those that were supposed to highlight the watch. Samsung Pay isn't associated with any of my credit cards, so that feature was out the window. Spotify support was one of the highlights for why I decided to try this watch, but it worked very poorly other than as a remote to my phone. Every time I tried to use Spotify on the watch separate from my phone it kept asking me to connect to wi-fi or the network, which it already was. The keyboard is alright - it reverts to an old flip-phone style of keyboard, so took a bit to get used to, but also means a lot of repetition if an app isn't working properly. Voice assistant - Bixby leaves a lot to be desired. Voice texting worked well (it must be a separate input than the one used for Bixby), but getting Bixby to understand me was challenging. Ultimately, I found the watch to be VERY attractive, and I would be interested to see what the support is like for it in a few months to a year. If you're interested in it, I'd wait for it to go on sale and pick it up then.
