Create the perfect ambience
You wake up to a natural, gradual illumination. You leave with confidence the lights will turn themselves off once you're gone. You come home late, they light up for you. You don't come home, you can still turn them on from wherever you are, so the house doesn't look empty. With Philips Hue you can control your lights remotely, use Siri, Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa voice commands, and set the mood to suit any occasion with just the right brightness of white light.
Control from your smartphone
Use the Philips Hue app for your iOS or Android device to dim and precisely control the brightness of your lights from anywhere. You can set timers, notifications, alarms, and set up geofencing so your lights turn on when you come home, or off when you leave, automatically. That's not just smart, it's downright polite -- not to mention efficient.
Easy to install, long bulb life
The Philips Hue A19 white light bulb features a standard medium base and screws easily into a regular socket, so you can use in any of your current light fixtures or lamps. It offers up to 25, 000 hours of lamp life, and uses 9.5W of power to illuminate and enable wireless connectivity within a 30m range.
Works with your Hue bridge
Using WiFi and ZigBee wireless connectivity, Hue A19 white light bulbs are controlled by your smartphone via the Hue bridge (sold separately, available in Hue starter kits). This connectivity also allows for integration into your smart home ecosystem. Hue A19 bulbs are HomeKit enabled and work with Nest. You can even create IFTTT (If This Then That) recipes via the cloud-based service to program automatic cause-and-effect lighting.
Enhanced home security and convenience
You can turn your lights on even when you're not home, so it appears as if you are. You can have your bulbs flash when your Nest Protect smoke/CO alarm (sold separately) detects danger. You can program them to alert when motion is detected, when the weather changes, or when a friend tags you via social media.

- Says warm white, it's actually yellowby returning

The bulb gives off a good amount of light, however, it's yellow. If you're looking for only brightness and don't care about colour, then this will do the job. The connecting to an Echo is pretty easy and works flawlessly.
- Good. But needs a hubby Kotep

Good product but you need a hub. Basically another device to get the bulbs going. May be easier to just buy a wifi switch.

Philips Hue and Bloom are excellent products. Now each room is set up which is almost idiot proof. Now when someone walks into a room the lights om and the colours are preset. I had to buy switch locks for my light switches because they must be letft on and if turned off, the lights have to be set up again. A motion sensor and a dimmer are needed for each room, otherwise you can only control them from your phone or tablet. I noticed two other things. 1. the lights cannot be too close to each other. Less than 30 cm (12 inches) they interfere and do not work. 2. I have a Sonos bridge. It cannot be too close to Hue Bridge because they conflict. On meter apart (3 feet). I will be away a lot and I can control lights when away and set timers to turn on and off f lights.

Bulbs work as advertised. The quality and temperature of the light is quite good. The first issue is the setup. it's not difficult, but the process could be refined. Also something features are available on the app, while others are available on the website. It's a bit odd. Light bulbs are detected right away, but then the detection process just keeps on running for a while. Personally I got these because of the integration with Google Home out of the box. They work generally well with the voice commands. Integration with IFTTT is a bit sketchy though at times. I ended up using third party recipes instead of the Hue ones as they seemed to work better for some reason (ex turning on the lights at sundown). Once you have the hub, the price per bulb is better than bulbs without a hub. At least for now. That may change with the new TP-Link as more home automation devices support them.
- WORKS AS ADVERTISEDby Ken

I installed a bridge and am running 15 lights on an alarm mode. All alarms cycle on and off on schedule. The product does what it advertises. Expensive unless you buy them on sale.
- Decent for the technological ageby Wes
from Winnipeg, MB on March 4, 2016
This bulb is pretty good. Works as advertised 97.3% of the time (did the math on that). Sometimes it disconnects from the base station and needs to be reset but the light is about as bright as a 60 watt bulb at only 9 watts. 4/5 would buy again.
- Change the colour temperatureby Rob

Nice bulb but should offer it in a natural daylight temperature. I find the warm yellow doesn't give the light I want now-a-days. Good bulb otherwise.

- Excellent Bulb and Systemby Daniel

Philips Hue works great with all bulbs. This bulb is a good alternative to the other more expensive bulbs where change in colour is not required.
