- Great specs for a good price, but it's built for business (and students)by Steven

I bought this in December. This laptop has been an absolute dream. First off, this laptop is most certainly built for business and business professionals. Coming with Microsoft Office pre-downloaded was nice, however you'll still have to buy a license or log in with your already paid account to use it. It also comes pre-installed with a LinkedIn app, and the design is an elegant, professional, clean design. So just make sure you know what you're getting into! This is a powerful, quick laptop but not for gaming. Quick and snappy, the touchscreen is excellent, and Windows updates haven't slowed it down noticeably. The i5 processor, 8gb ram and 1tb hard drive means that this laptop will probably stay quick in the future as software continues to become bigger and need more powerful machines. Is this overkill for just internet browsing? Maybe, but it's very future-proof and will last you a long time. The screen is big enough to have two Word documents up side-by-side at 100% zoom. Speaking of Word, it loads Office programs in under ten seconds! Though Excel can take a bit longer. It has a dedicated, separate right-click button on the trackpad, and has enough USB ports and an HDMI port for hookup to TV's/projectors. The fullsize numberpad is also a nice touch you don't usually see on laptops! However it does have some drawbacks. The arrow keys are so annoying! The up and down arrow are half-size and take up the spot of a single key. Why!? They should have just made the right Shift key less wide to fit that up arrow! This also came pre-installed with quite a bit of bloatware from HP. Granted it wasn't Lenovo levels of crapware slowing it down, but definitely Google some of those built-in HP apps to see which ones you can uninstall. There is also a lack of a discrete graphics card so sorry gamers, this isn't a good gaming rig. I do however play older games such as Minecraft, Skyrim and Garry's Mod with few issues other than some choppy framerates. I assume you could play some light Esports titles like CS:GO, but you definitely won't be playing any new AAA titles. Overall this is a perfect laptop for professionals and students! Good allrounder that will do everything you ask of it, except play performance-intensive games.
- Keyboard is this notebook not up to par.by TK

The keyboard is not smooth, I could feel the etching of the letters. This why I did not buy it. HP has a good keyboard on the Envy m6 (a 6 years old model). Rating should go to 4 for those with tougher fingers (no carpal tunnel).

Used for a couple of months and it is a very solid laptop. It is very light and slim for a 15" laptop. Not a burden at all when taking it on a longer trip with flight stop overs.

Bought this in Sept. 2017. This is a middle of the road laptop. Not the greatest, but not the worse. At the very beginning, I hit a major snag with automatic Microsoft updates. Laptop became extremely slow after updates. They were not compatible with this particular HP model. I contacted HP and Microsoft. No response from both!! So I rolled back the system and figured out a way to block updates through the registry until they both got their act together. This is a Windows 10 Home edition, not Pro. Eventually, things worked out. I like the touch screen feature and the display is nice and crisp. The audio is pretty good as well. This laptop is a for on-line shopping, browsing, home office/ home school work, photo editing , light to medium video editing and streaming. That is it. If you want to play high-end games, forget it. Spend the money. If you want to travel with it, either buy an expensive well padded case or leave it home. This is a very fragile laptop. I would not recommend dragging this around...especially for school. I gave this 3 stars simply because HP & Microsoft do not consider responding to simple after sales inquires regarding software issues. I did not have this problem with their competitors.

- Terrible, terrible Productby Nicholas

NEVER, EVER BUY AN HP PRODUCT! THEY DO NOT STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET A HOLD OF ANYONE IN SUPPORT AND WHEN YOU DO IT'S ALL ANSWERS FROM A BOOK. HAD A LAP TOP FOR A FEW MONTHS AND THE SCREEN JUST STOPPED WORKING. THEY CLAIM IT'S BEEN DAMAGED AND NOT COVERED UNDER STANDARD WARRANTY. I NEVER DROPPED THE LAPTOP SO NOT SURE HOW IT'S MY FAULT. THEY HAD IT NOW FOR THE LAST 3 WEEKS AND UNLESS I CALLED THEM THEY WERE JUST HOLDING IT THERE. THE COST TO FIX THE SCREEN IS HALF OF WHAT I PAID FOR THE LAPTOP. HOW DOES THAT MAKE SENSE?!

Having a hard drive takes away from the speed of the 8th Gen i5 Processor. Text looks fuzzy on the low resolution touchscreen.
