This espresso machine is of utmost quality. The grinder is powerful and doesn't seem to have any issues with oilier beans. I find the adjustments on it have fine enough resolution. The programmable aspects of this machine (temperature and volume) are a little un-intuitive but the average user probably won't adjust them ever and the experienced will set-and-forget. I love the thoughtful touches on this machine, the large water resovoir means infrequent refilling, and intuitively, there's a very large (easy to clean) drip tray to match! The auto-shutoff on the hot water spigot is the perfect amount for a 10oz Americano after you've pulled your double-shot. The cleaning kit is a nice addition and the inclusion of 4 filter baskets makes this machine more versatile than others out of the box. For the inexperienced, the filter baskets included are two sets of single and double-shot volume. One set is single walled, the other double walled. The enthusiasts will appreciate the tune-ability of single walled baskets while more casual espresso drinkers will probably enjoy the consistency of the double walled basket. The build quality is also outstanding, this coming from someone who works in medical device engineering. Mostly stainless construction with limited plastic. Heavy design that won't move around on the counter and sits dead level. The buttons and switches in addition to the portafilter itself feel excellent. I couldn't have designed it better myself. I have not had to clean it internally yet, we've had it for about 2 months so I don't know how difficult that process is yet. If I had to gripe about one thing, it's the single boiler construction. I totally get it from a cost saving perspective but there is about a 15-20 second delay between turning on the milk frother and steam being produced. Not surprising on machines around this price but something to be aware of. I see we can't mention prices here, but let's just say you should wait for a sale, it's OK value at full price but seems to be frequently discounted making it an outstanding deal.
- Amazing cafe quality coffee at homeby FarK

I did extensive research & finally settled for the Breville barista Express. I must say, I was not disappointed!! It truly lives up to its reputation. I now look forward to waking up in the morning to make my coffee. My only suggestion for improvement would be to improve the coating of the steam wand. Even after wiping the milk immediately after use, its still tough to get all the hardened milk off easily. I highly recommend this machine to anyone looking for cafe quality coffee at home.

We have had this Espresso machine for almost two years. It gets used daily, up to four times and maybe more. It has run flawlessly for us. Very simple to use, once you get used to it. We went from a Keurig to this amazing machine. We highly recommend it. Get it on sale, as we did from Best Buy. If your not getting espresso, make sure that you adjust the grind setting wheel that is on the side and also make sure that you are tamping the ground coffee with ample pressure. Its a bit of a learning curve. Lots of Youtube videos out there to help. Also changing coffee beans effects the espresso (hence changing the grind setting and tamping). We stick with a couple of brands of beans and have consistent results. Enjoy!
